CHILDREN'S MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAMS (CMH)

Currently in Fresno, Yolo, Sacramento, Stanislaus and Solano Counties.  CMH provides a broad continuum of behavioral health care services, serving infants through twenty-one year olds, for behavioral conditions stemming from abuse, neglect, behavioral disorders, family conflicts, emotional disturbance, learning disabilities and developmental disabilities.  While every county has different eligibility criteria and referral process, there are some similar services offered.  The setting for most of the services offered is in the home or the community.  The population served by CMH ranges from mild to intensive, including children who the program is diverting from an out-of-home placement.  All members of the family are engaged in the treatment process, services are tailored to the unique needs of the client and their family, and the client and family are empowered to be actively involved and responsible in their own recovery beyond the services delivered.  The family receives assistance in identifying and building upon individual strengths and community resources to develop a support network that will help sustain their recovery beyond the services delivered.  The goal in this treatment approach is to improve the client’s long-term wellness and quality of life.
